The role of the family plays a significant part in the development of an individual’s emotional and physical wellbeing. When an individual’s emotional and physical wellbeing is compromised, the overall health of a family is compromised.
During couples counselling, the therapist and the couple/family members work together to identify areas where they would like to make positive changes. This is achieved through improving communication skills, developing effective conflict resolution skills, as well as understanding unique family situations and how they impact each family member.
Merrill's approach is to work with the couple in a non-judgemental safe environment while exploring triggers and patterns that are impacting the relationship.
